- BikingLasVegas.com Beginner Ride
6:30 a.m.
PACE: 12mph maximum. Great for beginners or for anyone who wants a slow recovery ride.
Beginners will love this nice, easy pace around the Lakes and Summerlin. The route will be a 10 mile loop that we do 2x totaling 20 miles in distance. If you a true beginner and can only do one 10 mile loop, that's ok! The objective is to get you out there riding comfortably and safely in a group. You can always opt out after the first 10 miles...or you can go on for 20. It's entirely up to you.
TO SEE THE ROUTE, CLICK ON THE EVENT WEBSITE LINK BELOW.
This is also a great ride for beginners who need help with shifting and learning about your gearing. I also go through a brief tutorial on riding safely within a group setting prior to the ride.
Starting Location:
3300 Lake South Dr
Las Vegas, NV 89117
- Meet at the Park -
Corner of Lake South Drive and Shoreline Dr.

- Southwest Bikes: Sunday Morning Classic
6:30 a.m.
Location:
Southwest Bikes
7260 W Azure Dr
Las Vegas, NV 89130
This is our CLASSIC Sunday morning ride and begins a leisurely paced start at 7:30am. Promise of smooth sailing begins on Tenaya at a 12 mile-an-hour pace, then a gentle rise begins and tests those legs going up towards frontage. 6 miles in finds us at 95 and the Mount Charleston turn off. Beginners decide Starbucks sound good at this point and turn around for a healthy 12 mile round trip and a warm beverage as a reward. The rest of us form a pace-line on 95, taking one minute turns into the usual headwind until we approach the exit which marks our sprint for bragging rights at Paiute overpass. Then Woo Hoo! down FAAASssst to the golf course. What goes down must come up and we huff our way back up. Some people may decide to get a few extra miles and head North to Corn Creek Road along US 95. Some head back South along US 95 back to Southwest Bikes where Starbucks welcomes us with coffee aromas.
There is a COOL alternate route for Intermediate riders and above; Same Starting place and time but the route is to the new gun range at the top of Decatur,...the distance is about the same but steeper climbs and a faster pace,....as with the traditional route, there is the opportunity to expand the route with Tim and the crew, usually 40-50 miler,...this is quickly becoming a Southwest Bikes favorite!

- Tour de France 2010
(July 03 – July 25)
The most famous bicycle race of all time! Running from Saturday July 3rd to Sunday July 25th 2010, the 97th Tour de France will be made up of 1 prologue and 20 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,600 kilometres.
I will miss the Team Time Trial this year. I really enjoyed watching that last year. You really get to know how well a team works together on that event. But...no matter what, I'm sure this will be a good year with lots of exciting racing. Will Lance top Alberto? Will the Schleck Brothers take the top spots on the podium? Will Team Sky make an impact? Lots of spectacular talent to watch...don't miss it!

Last year I paid to watch it on Versus On Demand. Not sure if they're doing that again, but probably will. So...here's the link if you're interested and don't get Versus on your Cable Box:
