------IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT LVVBC CLUB RIDES/EVENTS------
1. The Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club’s (Club) insurance is only available to the participants who sign the Club’s Indemnity Agreement (Sign-in sheet) before an advertised ride or event begins.------
2. If no Sign-in sheet is available before an advertised ride/event begins, that ride/event becomes non-sanctioned and the Club’s insurance is not applicable to the ride/event.------
3. The Club assumes no liability for personal injuries or property damage that may result from participation in any Club ride or event.------
4. The Ride Leader, or a Club member designated by the Ride Leader, is responsible for returning Sign-in sheets to the Club’s Ride Coordinator. Completed Sign-in sheets may be scanned and emailed, mailed to the Club’s PO Box or given directly to a Club officer who will bring them to the Club meetings. The Club must retain Sign-in sheets for liability reasons. The Club’s Board of Directors (Board) appreciates your cooperation.------
5. With daily changes that occur to local weather conditions, some rides may be cancelled. If there is any doubt, please contact the designated Ride Leader of that ride the night before for instructions.------
6. Club rides/events leave at the posted time. Participants need to arrive at the meeting place early enough to allow sufficient time to prepare for the ride and not delay the others from starting on time.------
7. Non-members are welcome on all Club rides.------
8. Helmets must be worn while on Club rides.------
9. Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian who is responsible for that minor for the duration of Club rides/events.------
10. Bring tire repair supplies, inflation device, and tools.------
11. Bring sufficient drinking fluids for the length of the ride and/or money to purchase more if necessary. Most riders normally carry a minimum of two 24-ounce hydration bottles. Hydration in the high desert is very important year round and can have extreme consequences if ignored.------
12. To schedule a ride or cancel a ride, contact the Club Ride Coordinator Eric Koppel at 873-6256 by the 15th of the preceding month.------
13. For general Club information contact James C. “Jim” Little at 360-4751.------
14. ATTENTION: If you like Bicycling and are a Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club member who would like to lead a ride please give your ride coordinator Eric Koppel a call at 873-6256 or email at Navigatrnv@aol.com. He can help you with all the information needed to lead that special ride. If the rides you see are to long or to fast then this is your chance to get involved with the club and make some changes. You can start with a short ride or even a ride to have coffee and a bagel at your favorite sandwich shop. Let’s make this club shine with pride as we have always done with everything we get involved with.

- Bike Polo @ UNLV
6:30 p.m.
Bike polo. That's all there is to it. Bring a bike, any bike will do. Some people like singlespeed mountain bikes, others, road bikes, BMX, and everything else. Meet up in front of the Lied Library where Harmon rounds-about. We play mostly in the grass, but sometimes on pavement, depending on irrigation schedules. No experience required, all are welcome. We supply the mallets and balls, you just whack em. This is a mellow group, expect little to no physical harm, and even less attitude. We are a good mix of male/female students/faculty/other. After playing we usually grab some tacos and beer.

- Team 04:50 Wednesday Road Ride
4:50 a.m.
Team 04:50 is a group of non-competitive riders (well, some are more competitive in their own minds than others) who are crazy enough to ride at 4:50 a.m. Monday through Friday year round. We meet at the northwest corner of Buffalo and Cheyenne. Unless the weather is really bad, there is always someone there. Group numbers range from 3 to 15 depending on the time of year and the weather. We usually ride an hour and a half to two hours - people turn off or back whenever they need to to get to work. We ride through Summerlin or through Centenial Hills. It is hard to say the average speed but it probably ranges in the 15-16 mph. BUT, no one gets dropped permanently. I say permanently as we have different established routes and the stronger riders often go ahead and circle back to pick up the not so strong riders at some point. All levels are welcome.

- Tour de France 2010
(July 03 – July 25)
The most famous bicycle race of all time! Running from Saturday July 3rd to Sunday July 25th 2010, the 97th Tour de France will be made up of 1 prologue and 20 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,600 kilometres.
I will miss the Team Time Trial this year. I really enjoyed watching that last year. You really get to know how well a team works together on that event. But...no matter what, I'm sure this will be a good year with lots of exciting racing. Will Lance top Alberto? Will the Schleck Brothers take the top spots on the podium? Will Team Sky make an impact? Lots of spectacular talent to watch...don't miss it!

Last year I paid to watch it on Versus On Demand. Not sure if they're doing that again, but probably will. So...here's the link if you're interested and don't get Versus on your Cable Box:
